Break out the teasing comb and shoulder pads, because your favourite ‘80s-inspired courtroom comedy is back!

The Kingston Theatre Alliance (KTA) is excited to announce the return of 6 AM Productions’ Love in the First Degree. Having played to sold out crowds this past summer as part of the 11th annual Kick & Push Festival, the show is back and better than ever!

Love in the First Degree is a campy, interactive courtroom comedy set in the neon-drenched 1980s. The case? What should’ve been the most radical wedding reception of the decade... until the groom dropped dead mid-toast. Now, eight wedding guests stand accused of murder, and it is up to the audience to become judge, jury, and executioner to decide who is guilty for this crime.

As part of a new initiative tentatively titled “KTA Presents” the KTA is spotlighting local theatre professionals by offering additional opportunities to present work throughout the year, separate from the existing summer opportunities through The Kick & Push Festival. As an arts service organization with the central mission of building, supporting, and uplifting the area’s professional live performance sector, the KTA is thrilled at the ability to continue expanding the ways it can deliver on this mission, beginning with a locally grown company with national scope such as 6 AM Productions.

“In Love and and the First Degree, you’re witnessing local talent shine in a fun interactive play.”
